Dr. Gabriele Chase

Dr. Gabriele Chase

Owner/Medical Director

Dr. Gabriele Chase is a New England native who has spent over a decade dedicated to the health and happiness of companion animals throughout the Greater Boston area. A Smith College alumna and a 2012 graduate of the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Chase moved to Middlesex County following a surgical and medical internship at Pieper Memorial in Connecticut.

While she originally dreamed of being a “dinosaur vet,” Dr. Chase found her true calling in bridging the gap between preventive wellness, chronic disease management, and urgent care for dogs and cats. She is especially passionate about cultivating long-term relationships with pets and their families, as well as supporting nervous patients to optimize their veterinary experience and overall quality of life.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Chase is a lover of the Oxford comma, an avid reader and cook, a casual crafter, and a devoted companion to her two dogs, Shiva and Tilly. (And yes—she still has a soft spot for the dinosaurs that first inspired her career!)

Becky George

Owner/Practice Manager

For Becky, opening this practice has been a homecoming. After working for the previous occupants as a receptionist and technician from 2002 to 2008, she is excited to return to 95 Cross Street to bring back the personal, familial feel of private practice. Becky holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from the University of Vermont and brings decades of professional experience ranging from clinical care to veterinary sales.

What she enjoys most about the veterinary industry is the chance to educate and engage with pet owners, all while embracing the daily challenges that make the job so rewarding. When she isn’t helping pets live their best lives, she enjoys reading, yoga, and traveling with her husband and two children. She is also the proud pet parent to Willie, a Black Lab mix, and three cats: Bubbles, Joey, and Bender.

Marykate, CVT

Lead Technician

Driven by a lifelong passion for animals, Marykate transitioned from pet sitting and the salon industry to pursue her true calling as a Certified Veterinary Technician. While working toward her degree, she spent six years at a small-animal general practice, where she discovered a love for the technical side of veterinary medicine—especially anesthesia and dentistry.

After graduating from Penn Foster College in 2019 and passing the VTNE, Marykate spent several years in specialty medicine before returning to general practice with a renewed mission: supporting fellow technicians as they grow their skills and helping foster a positive, supportive clinic environment every day.

Outside of work, Marykate enjoys working out, practicing yoga, and relaxing with a good book or her knitting. She shares her home with her husband and their two cats, Quagmire and Rufus.

Maddie

Maddie

Veterinary Technician

Maddie’s journey to veterinary medicine began in the tide pools and salt marshes of Cape Cod. Growing up on the Cape, she was surrounded by a unique coastal ecosystem that sparked a lifelong fascination with the natural world and the animals that share it. She always knew she wanted to dedicate her life to their care, it was simply a matter of finding the right path.

That curiosity led Maddie to earn a degree in Environmental Science. She soon realized she craved a more personal and direct impact. She wanted to work on the front lines of animal health, providing hands-on care in a clinical setting while building meaningful relationships with the families.

Outside of work, Maddie can usually be found heading toward the mountains or the woods with her husband. A passionate hiker and skier, she thrives on fresh air and a good trail. Whether navigating a snowy slope or exploring a local path, she loves staying active and immersed in the outdoors.

Nicole

Nicole

Veterinary Technician

Nicole grew up in Salem and Revere. She was always the kid who wanted to be around animals, and focused on turning that childhood passion into a fulfilling career. As a Veterinary Technician and a Doberman Pinscher breeder, Nicole’s life revolves around the health and happiness of four-legged friends. She is excited to bring her experience as a veterinary ICU nurse to the Cross Street Team.

Nicole is currently in the process of earning her CVT certification through the Penn Foster program with an anticipated graduation date in 2027. She believes there is always more to learn when it comes to animal wellness. When she is not at the clinic or training her Dobies, you can usually find her exploring local North Shore trails, gardening, and doing DIY projects around the house. She shares her home with her two teenage sons.
